My Investment Portfolio (March 2012)

As expected, March 2012 was a quiet month for investors. STI ended where it had started the month at around 3000 points. Not much companies were reporting their full-year results in March, though I read with interest the results from Jacks International and Tan Chong International.

For this month, I have attended the following AGMs/EGMs - LionGold, A-REIT, OSIM and Roxy Pacific.

For my top 30 holdings, Guthrie GTS and Bonvests re-entered my top 30 list, mainly due to price appreciation though I had bought more shares in Bonvests this month. PSL Holdings dropped out of the list as I have reduced my holdings in the company. Main movers in the top 30 list for this month include Viz Branz, Aspial, Fragrance Group and Wheelock Properties.

I have recorded my first sell trade of the year. I have reduced my stake in PSL Holdings and the proceeds had been re-invested in a list of companies this month - Bonvests, CDW, Hiap Hoe, Hong Fok, Hor Kew, IFS, Intraco, King Wan, Koh Brothers, Koyo, Lum Chang, PNE Industries, Popular, PSC Corp, San Teh, Stamford Land, Transview, Tsit Wing and Tuan Sing.

I have accepted the following voluntary cash/delisting offer - CMZ and China Healthcare. I have also participated in the following rights issue - Tiong Woon.

Next month, I will be busy attending AGMs. As such, I don't expect much activities in my portfolio. However, I will be subscribing for the rights issues of Global Investments, Pacific Andes and PSL Holdings.

Care to share why you sell PSL holdings? What are your considerations for reducing your stakes of a particular stock?

Hi David,

The reason to reduce my stake in PSL Holdings is purely on a portfolio basis plus the stock is overvalued in my view. Also, with the upcoming rights issue, I do not wish to have more exposure to PSL Holdings, though I will take up the rights. A big question mark is whether they can make it in their new mining business.

I will only reduce my stake in companies which I felt that they are overvalued. Also, they need to come up in my radar, which means I can get a decent amount to re-invest after selling. There is no point selling bits and pieces of small holdings everywhere.

I have detailed my process to make changes to my portfolio below in this post:

Hi Unknown,

You just need to bring your IC for identification purposes. I dunno whether I will be attending Hotel Grand Central or Hiap Hoe AGMs. There are few other interesting options on that day, which includes Zagro Asia, A-Sonic etc
