My Investment Portfolio (November 2017)

STI ended the month at around 3433 points, again ending above last month's closing. Although STI is somewhat muted near the end of the month, with Dow Jones hitting new highs, the local market somewhat benefited from the spillover effect. Bank stocks had been doing well, with expectation of interest rate hike.

For this month, I have attended the following AGMs/EGMs/briefings - Ocean Sky, Delfi, Sinopipe, Khong Guan, Vicplas, GLP and TTJ.

For my top 30 holdings, Jardine C&C returned to the top after I build up my position in the stock on share price weakness. Tat Seng is another mover in the list after Hanwell's 3Q17 results revealed that they are doing well. Keppel T&T also performed well after announcing that they will be doing a strategic review on their logistics assets. GK Goh also did well after booking in a decent gain from exiting most of their investment in euNetworks. Other stocks in the list that did well include Venture and PM Data. Best World, however did not do well after announcing their 3Q17 results, with Taiwan being a main drag in their numbers.

I have bought the following companies from the market this month - Bund Center, ComfortDelgro, Delfi, Far East Orchard, Global Testing, Hotel Properties, Hwa Hong, Jardine C&C, LTC Corp, Raffles Medical, Sabana REIT, Sinarmas Land, Singapore Reinsurance, Singapore Shipping, Singapura Finance, Stamford Land, Straits Trading, Teckwah, Thakral, TIH and UIC. I have also closed my position in Hengxin Tech after they announced voluntary delisting of their secondary listing status on SGX.

I have participated in the following rights issue this month - Koh Eco. I have also participated in the following scrip dividend schemes this month - Frasers Commercial Trust, Keppel REIT and UOA. My stake in Fischer Tech was also being acquired via scheme of arrangement.

With only one month left before the end of the year, there will not be much activity expected on the corporate front. As for my portfolio, I will be trying to make some minor changes before closing out for the year. In term of readings, I have quite a bit of catch up work to do after skipping some of them during the course of the year. I will also be spending the last few weeks of the year thinking through my strategy for next year and hope to navigate the markets better in 2018.

My Investment Portfolio (October 2017)

STI ended the month at around 3374 points, surprisingly strong showing after a few weak months. Oil price had recovered to around US$60 level also contributed to the bullish mood, although markets were somewhat muted towards the end of the month. The rally was quite board based, with bank stocks, property stocks, manufacturing stocks, oil & gas stocks etc all delivering decent gains.

For this month, I have attended the following AGMs/EGMs/briefings - Chuan Hup, Karin, Wing Tai, Pollux, Spindex, Thakral, Santak, CFM and Parkson Retail Asia.

For my top 30 holdings, Amara returned to the list due to strong performance by hotel stocks. Manufacturing stocks like Venture and PNE Industries also did well. Keppel T&T moved up a few positions as I continue to accumulate the stock due to share price weakness. Two blue chip stocks, CapitaLand and ComfortDelgro dropped out of the list due to underperformance relative to other stocks in the list.

I have bought the following companies from the market this month - Bund Center, Delfi, First Sponsor, Global Testing, GRP, Isetan, Keppel T&T, Sin Ghee Huat, Sin Heng, Singapore Reinsurance, Straits Trading, TIH and Yeo Hiap Seng. I have also closed my positions in Genting Hong Kong and BG Blue Sky after they announced voluntary delisting of their secondary listing status on SGX. My stake in Saizen REIT had also been delisted and trust terminated after receiving their final payout.

I have accepted the following voluntary delisting/cash offers this month - BRC Asia, GP Batteries, IndiaBulls Trust and Poh Tiong Choon. I have also participated in the following rights/preferential offer issues this month - CapitaLand Commercial Trust and MapleTree Logistics Trust.

I have also converted the following company warrants to shares this month - Centurion.

I have participated in the following scrip dividend schemes this month - Global Investments, Jardine Strategic and QAF.

Next month will be a another quiet month. As usual, I will do some catch up with my readings. Also, companies with financial year ending 30 September 2017 will be announcing their full-year results. I will be looking out for their result announcements as well.

My Investment Portfolio (September 2017)

STI ended the 3rd quarter of the year at around 3219 points, again down from last month. Usual concerns like interest rate hike in US and Korean Peninsular issues had dominated the markets. It looks like markets is now under a correction mode going into the last quarter of the year.

For this month, I have attended the following AGMs/EGMs/briefings - Moya Asia, MapleTree Logistics Trust and SGX.

For my top 30 holdings, Best World returned to the list again as investors bought back the stock after a selldown last month. Venture is a main mover in an otherwise much unchanged list. Sarine Technologies dropped out of the list after being sold down due to concerns on IP issues. Mandarin Oriental had been volatile this month due to news flow on its intended sale of an asset.

I have bought the following companies from the market this month - AF Global, Allied Tech, ComfortDelgro, Delfi, EnGro, GL, Heeton, Hong Leong Finance, Hotel Grand Central, Hotel Properties, Keppel T&T, Singapore Reinsurance, Singapura Finance and TIH. I have also reduced my position in CapitaLand Commercial Trust in order to extract cash to participate in its rights issue next month.

I have accepted the following voluntary delisting/cash offer this month - CWT. I have also participated in the following rights issue this month - Cache Logistics Trust.

I have participated in the following scrip dividend schemes this month - Vibrant Group and UOA.

Next month will be another AGM season whereby companies with financial year ending 30 June 2017 will be holding their AGMs. As usual, I will try to attend some of these meetings in order to get some updates on some of these companies.

My Investment Portfolio (August 2017)

STI closed the month at around 3277 points, ending the month down from last month. Trading volume had generally been low and markets had been concerned about tensions on the Korean peninsular. Corporate results had been ok, but I guess markets might have already factored in some of these results.

For this month, I have attended the following AGMs/EGMs/briefings - Delfi, Haw Par, UOL, Del Monte, Cosco and DMX.

For my top 30 holdings, ComfortDelgro returned to the list again as I added more onto the stock on recent share price weakness. Venture also appeared in the list for the first time after it outperformed lately due to decent half year results and exposure to automotive sector. Best World, however, dropped out of the list after their recent selldown due to concerns on their China market business model.

I have bought the following companies from the market this month - Bund Center, ComfortDelgro, EnGro, Hotel Grand Central, Hotung, Hotel Properties, IP Softcom, Keppel T&T, PNE Industries, Raffles Medical, Singapura Finance, Stamford Land and Straits Trading. I have also closed my position in United Food.

I have also participated in the following scrip dividend schemes this month - Frasers Commercial Trust, Keppel REIT, Far East Hospitality Trust, CapitaLand Retail China Trust, DBS and UOB.

Next month will be another quiet month. Therefore, I will spend sometime looking closely at my portfolio and prune down some stocks. It had been my intention to reduce the number of stocks in my portfolio for quite sometime and I have already identified some stocks which I wish to eliminate. I will also, as usual, catch up with some readings.

My Investment Portfolio (July 2017)

STI closed the month at around 3329 points, with banks and property counters continuing their good run. However, the rally somewhat tapered off near the end of the month, indicating that markets might be needing a break.

For this month, I have attended the following AGMs/EGMs/briefings - Ascendas Hospitality Trust, Azeus,  Ascendas India Trust, Metro, MapleTree Logistics Trust, SIA Engineering, SingPost, SATS, PM Data, Bukit Sembawang, AA Reit, GLP and GP Industries.

For my top 30 holdings, PM Data returned to the list after a decent performance as investors are more upbeat about its prospects and margin of their products. Other stocks in the list that did well include Metro, Bukit Sembawang Estates, Tat Seng, GK Goh, Spindex, Isetan and Hiap Hoe. Keppel T&T did not do well due to its poor 2Q results and also the decision to end its strategic review of their stake in M1. Sarine Technologies also underperformed after the company announced that they had filed lawsuit against infringers of its technology. Jardine C&C was another laggard in the list.

I have bought the following companies from the market this month - AF Global, Bund Center, ComfortDelgro, Delfi, EnGro, Hotel Grand Central, IHH, Karin, Koh Brothers, M1, Raffles Medical and Stamford Land. No sell trade was done.

I have participated in the following rights issues this month - Pan Utd and CDL H Trust. I have also accepted the following voluntary delisting/cash offers this month - China Flexible Packaging (shares and warrants) and Nobel Design.

Next month will be another quiet month in terms of AGMs but there will be companies announcing their half-year results. Companies with financial year ending 30 June 2017 will also be announcing their full-year results. I will be keeping track on some of these result announcements. Also, I will be seeking to re-invest those dividends received prudently back into the market.

My Investment Portfolio (June 2017)

STI closed the month at around 3226 points, with the sell-off being accelerated towards the end of the month. Markets continued to look mixed but tech stocks had been sold off more than others. Short term wise, there seems to be more downside risk rather than upside for STI.

For this month, I have attended the following AGMs/EGMs/briefings - Sakae, Transit Mixed Concrete and Imperium Crown.

For my top 30 holdings, stocks that did well include Bukit Sembawang Estates, UOL and Mandarin Oriental. Laggards include Sarine Technologies and ComfortDelgro. Isetan returned to the list as I have added onto the stock this month.

I have bought the following companies from the market this month - AF Global, ComfortDelgro, Chuan Hup, Delfi, First Sponsor, GL, Hiap Hoe, Hwa Hong, Isetan, Koh Brothers, LTC Corp, Pacific Century, Raffles Medical, Samudera Shipping, SingPost, SingTel, Singapura Finance, Stamford Land, Tan Chong International, The Hour Glass, UOI and Yeo Hiap Seng. No sell trade was done.

I have participated in the following rights issue this month - Maxi-Cash. I have also accepted the following voluntary delisting/cash offer this month - Changtian Plastic.

I have participated in the following scrip dividend schemes - Far East Orchard and Hotel Grand Central.

With companies with financial year ending 31 March 2017 holding their AGMs, it will be another busy month for me in July. As usual, I will seek to attend some of these meetings to get updates on those companies in my portfolio.
